Job summary

Prestige Staffing in Atlanta is seeking a Medical Biller to join our on-site billing team. You will review patient bills, prepare and transmit claims, and follow up on unpaid accounts.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of medical billing/collections experience, knowledge of HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid guidelines, and strong communication with insurance payers. Experience with billing software and ability to manage multiple accounts is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review patient bills for accuracy and missing information.
• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software (electronic/paper).

• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, and state Medicaid
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
• Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount
• Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
• Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances
• All accounts are to be reviewed for insurance or patient follow-up
• Research and appeal denied claims

Medical Biller

Pay: $20-26/hr.

Location: Atlanta, GA (Fully onsite).

Schedule: M - F, 8:30am - 4:30pm

• Customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds
• Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections
• Knowledge of medical terminology likely to be encountered in medical claims
