Job summary

Upper East Orthopaedics, PC is seeking a detail-oriented medical billing specialist in New York to support payment posting, ERA processing and insurance claim management. The role requires experience with Medicare, Anthem, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna and EmblemHealth, and the ability to review notes for accuracy.

You will prepare claims, file, organize and track submissions, and follow up until payment is received, with a strong emphasis on HIPAA compliance and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience with posting payments and processing ERAs.

• Experience in Payment Posting, ERA's, Appeals for Medicare, Anthem, United HealthCare, Cigna and EmblemHealth
• Responsible for a range of tasks associated with generating and managing medical records for all billable activities
• Reviewing physicians' notes and charts for accuracy
• Obtaining any necessary clarification of information on the notes and charts
• Prepare claims
• Submit, organize and track all insurance claims filed by providers
• Follow-up until payment is received, and manage collections activities when necessary
• Will ensure service excellence by becoming thoroughly familiar with the "Seven Competencies" and putting them into practice in carrying out the job responsibilities
• Will conform to all applicable HIPAA, billing compliance and safety requirements
