A healthcare provider in California is seeking a Medical Biller / Collector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures and insurance guidelines from claim submission to payment collection. Responsibilities include timely claims submission and follow-up, with a requirement of 2+ years of relevant experience. This position is not remote.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of experience in a hands on Medical Billing / Collection position.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Be able to time manage and take direction.
• Strong computer skills, EMR skills.
• Experience with HMO, PPO, and state payors.
• Experience with claim appeals and aging accounts.

Responsibilities

• Timely submission of claims to a variety of insurance payers including PPOs, HMOs, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and CalOptima.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and work toward resolution.
• Resolve billing discrepancies.
