Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health’s Fort Worth Family Medicine clinic seeks a Medical Assistant Float to support multiple local clinics. Under supervision, you will provide patient care, prepare examination rooms, collect specimens, and assist physicians during visits.

The role requires the ability to travel to nearby locations, strong medical terminology knowledge, and a commitment to compassionate bedside manner. Education: HS diploma or GED; experience less than one year; BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide care across multiple clinics within a set local area.
• Ensure exam rooms are prepared and ready to welcome patients.
• Comfort patients and assist transitions from waiting to exam room.
• Assist in examination and treatment under physician supervision.
• Record vital signs and relevant information in patient histories.
• Handle specimen collection, labeling, and delivery to the lab.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Attend mandatory in-service education sessions.

Clinic Hours and work hours for Candidate: Clinic dependent, typically 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM

As a Medical Assistant Float, you provide patient care and medical procedures under supervision. Your role is crucial for smooth medical operations.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• You'll be a versatile resource, providing assistance across various clinics within a set local area.
• You'll ensure examination rooms are well-prepared and ready to welcome patients.
• You comfort patients, help transition from waiting to exam room, prepare for check-ups.
• You'll play an essential role in the examination and treatment of patients, working directly under the supervision of a physician.
• During patient interviews, measure pulse and temperature, and record them accurately in their medical history. Engage in essential tasks with patients and record information in their medical history.
• You'll assume responsibility for the collection, labeling, and delivery of specimens to the laboratory.
• You'll be an energetic participant in performance improvement activities whenever the opportunity arises.
• You'll continually enhance your skills and knowledge, attending mandatory in-service education sessions.
