Job summary

Role Description

This is a full-\u2014time, on-\u2014site Medical Assistant role based at Dermatology & Laser Center of Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, NC. The Medical Assistant will support dermatology providers by preparing exam rooms, assisting with dermatologic procedures and laser treatments, and ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout their visit. Day-\u2014to-\u2014day responsibilities include obtaining patient histories and vital signs, documenting visits in the electronic medical record, managing patient flow, and maintaining clinical supplies and equipment. The role also involves coordinating follow-\u2014up appointments, handling patient inquiries, and supporting front desk operations as needed to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience. The position requires a focus on safety, confidentiality, and adherence to clinical protocols.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Medical Assisting skills, including supporting procedures, preparing patients, and maintaining clinical workflows.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately communicate and document dermatologic conditions, treatments, and procedures.
• Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office setting, including coordinating appointments, supporting front desk functions, and working within a multidisciplinary team.
• Candidates should possess Patient Care skills focused on compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive interactions with individuals of all backgrounds.
• Candidates should possess competence in managing Medical Records, including accurate charting, use of electronic health records, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include prior dermatology or specialty clinic experience, certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent), and familiarity with laser or aesthetic procedures.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-\u2014paced clinical environment are essential.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
