Overview

The Medical Assistant is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical functions under the direct supervision of the physician and practice manager. They manage clinic patient flow, assist the patient care team, and provide a wide range of healthcare services to support quality and safe care. May float to other practices as needed within the region to support operational needs.

What You Will Do

• Maintain clinical competency by adhering to Riverside Medical Group standards, including updating patient records, taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, administering medications and vaccines under supervision, and managing medical supplies and equipment.
• Act as a liaison between physician and patient, providing support, comfort, and excellent customer service. Assist with patient education, managing expectations, and facilitating access to care.
• Perform lab procedures such as specimen collection, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and manage related documentation and specimen processing.
• Follow insurance and regulatory guidelines, including ICD9 and CPT coding, obtaining prior authorizations, and scheduling tests and specialist visits.
• Support productivity and quality goals by maximizing resource use and contributing to organizational quality measures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Program Graduate, Medical Assistant (Required)
• 1 year clinical experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - AAMA (Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - AHA/ARC (Required)
