Medical Assistant - Washington Mills - Full Time - Days

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or physician, the Medical Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care in an office setting. Records, facilitates and assists with patient examination and treatment. Assists and/or covers absences within the office as assigned. This may include but is not limited to patient reception, answering telephones, registration, scheduling of appointments and obtaining medical records. Also supports the provider as assigned.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Observes, collects, records, and reports selected data related to patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental and self-care ability.
  • Prepares patient for examination.
  • Assists provider with medical procedures.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for patient examination.
  • Maintains established inventory levels of medical supplies.
  • Responds appropriately to patient’s issues and notifies the office manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year direct patient care experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Concentration needed to assimilate information from many different sources.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required:

  • BLS Certification within 6 weeks of hire.

Preferred:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
