Job summary

Providence Health & Services is expanding a Walk-In Behavioral Health Clinic in Anchorage. This MA II role operates under a licensed practitioner to support patient care, with competency across MA I duties and location-specific needs.

The schedule is Monday–Friday daytime, in a Pacific Northwest–style team environment with Providence values. Ideal candidates have formal MA training or apprenticeship, plus recent clinical experience and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• 6 months healthcare experience.
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing patient care under the delegation of a licensed practitioner.
• Perform MA II duties and be fully competent in the clinical needs for the assigned clinic/location.

This role will be supporting a new Walk-In Behavioral Health Clinic in Anchorage.

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or

Pay Range

$23.27 - $35.60

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
