Role Overview

The Medical Assistant provides care to patients/significant others via direct and/or telephone contact, following established standards and practices. They coordinate with the care team to ensure seamless care delivery and assist physicians or other providers with clinical procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate clinical competence in direct patient care and assist MDs with procedures.
  2. Perform clinical duties within scope, adhering to department standards, policies, and protocols.
  3. Proactively address patient and family needs, communicating effectively and timely.
  4. Assist during exams and diagnostic procedures, demonstrating clinical competence.
  5. Perform authorized procedures such as vital signs, vision screening, and lab tests.
  6. Prepare e-prescriptions for pharmacies as instructed.
  7. Inspect, clean, and process instruments and equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
  8. Process specimens for laboratory transport, ensuring proper labeling and documentation in Epic.

Qualifications
Required
  1. Current Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification or ability to obtain within one year (training provided).
  2. At least 1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting.
Preferred
  1. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with recent experience.
  2. Current CPR/BLS certification.
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate ranges from $16.00 to $24.42+ based on experience, education, and certifications. Benefits include a comprehensive package, recognition programs, stock purchase options, and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility.
