Job summary

Bay Area Foot Care is a leading podiatry practice in the Bay Area dedicated to helping people of all ages and lifestyles. We are seeking a hard-working Medical Assistant to work with physicians and the team, performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties to support patient flow.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, CPR certification, MA program completion, and EMR experience; Athena is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification.
• Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent.
• EMR experience; Athena experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients on the phone and in person.
• Place patients in exam rooms and take vital signs.
• Assist and set up for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Apply dressings, bandages, and splints as ordered.
• Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment and HIPAA compliance.
• Ensure treatment rooms are stocked with supplies and perform admin duties.

Bay Area Foot Care is a leading podiatry practice in the Bay Area dedicated to helping people of all ages and lifestyles get back to enjoying the activities they love. We have convenient locations across the Bay Area.

Our team is looking for a hard-working medical assistant who will work with the physicians and other members of the practice by performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. Our Medical Assistants work to fulfill patient needs and ensure smooth patient flow within the practice.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet patients on the phone and in person
• Place patients in the exam rooms
• Take vital signs of patients
• Assist and setup up for examination, treatment, and procedures
• Apply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatrist
• Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment
• Maintain HIPAA
• Ensure treatment rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies
• Other administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
• Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
• Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training
• EMR Experience, Athena experience is a plus
