Medical Assistant, Urgent Care, San Mateo / San Carlos

This position offers per diem/ casual shifts with varied hours, including one weekend shift per month. The role requires availability for up to 40 hours during the initial two weeks for new hire training.

Position Overview

Provides clinical and clerical support to providers and members of the patient care team by performing back-office and patient-related tasks, supporting high-quality patient care, and ensuring smooth workflow within the department. Performs duties under the supervision of a clinician.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED, or completion of a recognized Medical Assistant training program (must present diploma within 90 days)
• California Medical Assistant certification (preferred, to be incentivized in 2025)
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Basic knowledge of medical procedures, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Competency in vital signs, patient preparation, and injections
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills, including EHR proficiency

Additional Details

• Employment type: Per Diem/Casual, Non-Exempt
• Shift hours: 8 hours, variable days, including weekends
