Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team. As a Medical Assistant in our fast-paced urgent care setting, you will play a vital role in providing efficient and compassionate patient care. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, be able to multitask effectively, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Intake and Triage:
    1. Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a smooth check-in process.
    2. Collect and record patient demographic information, medical history, and chief complaints.
    3. Prioritize and triage patients based on the urgency of their medical needs.
  2. Vital Signs and Patient Preparation:
    1. Perform basic clinical tasks, including measuring and recording vital signs.
    2. Assist with patient preparation for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests.
    3. Ensure a clean and organized patient care environment.
  3. Assistance to Healthcare Providers:
    1. Aid healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
    2. Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
    3. Assist with wound care, suture removal, and other minor medical procedures.
  4. Patient Education:
    1. Provide clear and concise instructions to patients regarding prescribed medications, home care, and follow-up instructions.
    2. Educate patients on preventive care measures and lifestyle modifications.
  5. Administrative Duties:
    1. Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.
    2. Manage and update electronic medical records with accuracy and completeness.
    3. Handle phone inquiries, take messages, and relay information to healthcare providers.
  6. Infection Control and Safety:
    1. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment.
    2. Follow safety guidelines and protocols for handling hazardous materials.

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent education.
  2. Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  4. Prior experience in urgent care, primary care, or a related healthcare setting is preferred.
  5. Proficient in medical terminology and documentation.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume setting.

Working Conditions:
