Summary

The Medical Assistant is under the clinical supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant and/or Physician to deliver care to the patient and assist the health care provider. He/She collaborates with other health care professionals in providing this care and also assumes clerical duties as assigned.

Salary: $18.96-28.44 USD

Work Schedule: Days, 9 AM to 5 PM

Responsibilities

Education

• Associate's degree or successful completion of an accredited medical assisting program required, or 3-5 years of Medical Assistant experience
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within first 90 days of employment

Experience

• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Word and email
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Physical ability to perform strenuous activities such as bending, lifting, walking
• Dexterity to manipulate medical equipment
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Knowledge of office procedures and Patient Centered Medical Home concepts is a plus
