This position is a Medical Assistant training program intended for individuals with little to no clinical experience and no formal Medical Assistant training.

  • You will need to be able and willing to travel to the West Penn Nursing school 2 days per week for hands-on training, while working the other three days of the week at a physician office, practicing your skills.
  • Once the program is complete, you will be required to sit for the Certification Exam.

There is a $1000 Sign-On Bonus for this position

  • Sign-On bonus is for External Hires only
  • Recipient must stay with AHN for a minimum of 1 year
  • Re-Hires may not have worked for AHN within the previous 12 months to qualify

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job is responsible for clinic patient support by performing essential clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience while contributing to the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Using the team based approach, assists in the coordination of patient care under supervision of the health care provider (14%)
  • Prepares and rooms patients within the clinic practice setting according to standardized work flows. Accurately obtains patient vital signs and history. May assist in the completion of various screening tools. (15%)
  • Assists providers with examinations and procedures. (15%)
  • Provides follow up with patients via preferred method of communication in accordance with provider instructions. (14%)
  • Prepares exam rooms for patient visit. Ensures adequate inventory of medical supplies. (14%)
  • Accurately performs lab controls and equipment checks. (14%)
  • Documents accurately in the electronic health record. (14%)
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • High School/GED
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
