Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program (or) One year as a Medical Assistant.
• High School Diploma required for Medical Assistant Trainee; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Taking patients to rooms.
• Obtaining vital signs.
• Assisting with medical procedures.
• Phlebotomy.
• Obtaining lab specimens.
• Adhering to safety and infection guidelines.
• Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR).
• Calculating & administering medications & vaccinations.
• Greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
• Billing and coding; clerical & computer work; handling authorizations.
