Qualifications
- Graduate of a medical assistant program (or) One year as a Medical Assistant.
- No experience required for Medical Assistant Trainee; comprehensive on-the-job training provided.
Responsibilities
- Taking patients to rooms.
- Obtaining vital signs.
- Assisting with medical procedures.
- Performing phlebotomy.
- Obtaining lab specimens.
- Adhering to safety and infection guidelines.
- Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR).
- Calculating & administering medications & vaccinations.
- Greeting patients.
- Scheduling appointments.
- Answering phones.
- Clerical & computer work.
- Prior authorizations.
- Billing and coding.
- Faxing.
- FMLA paperwork.
