Shift Details

20 hours/week, Part Time. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm. Schedule can be somewhat flexible, to be determined upon hire.

Caregiver at Intermountain

Responsibilities

• Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the clinician, assist the provider by gathering information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition.
• Effective Communication: Communicate clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
• Team Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to collaborate on patient care; attention to detail and follow-through are key components.

Minimum Qualifications

• This position requires one of the following:
  • Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program
  • At least one year of Medical Assistant work experience
  • Current active and in-good-standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state where applying
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver high levels of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
• Computer literacy in using EMR systems and other relevant software.
• Current national MA certification from one of the following: RMA (AMT), NCMA, CCMA, CMA (AAMA).

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need to see and read information, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent interactions requiring verbal communication and listening, including during emergencies.
• Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment with precision; frequent computer use for documentation.
• Ability to lift and transfer patients and to move supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
• Need to walk and assist with transporting patients and obtaining and distributing supplies; navigate crowded environments.
• Ability to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
• For roles requiring driving: ability to drive a vehicle and read signs and traffic signals.
