Qualifications

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Groups (NYPMG) are part of the physician enterprise of NewYork-Presbyterian, one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic health care delivery systems affiliated with two world-renowned medical schools. Through primary care and multispecialty medical practices, the physicians and other health care professionals of NYPMG, in collaboration with ColumbiaDoctors and Weill Cornell Physicians, provide families with high quality, patient-centered care close to home in the New York metropolitan area.

In this role, you will:

  1. Observe patient’s condition, report abnormal conditions to staff nurse and record appropriate documentation in patient’s records.
  2. Measure and record patient height and weight, perform routine vision and hearing examinations, and take pulse and blood pressure readings.
  3. Draw blood from patients and/or perform finger sticks and obtain other specimens as requested by physician or registered nurse.
  4. Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
  5. Use technical skills regarding positioning, wound care, and dressings.
  6. Maintain stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc.
  7. Other job-related duties as required.

This is a full-time 40 hour per week position; schedule may vary 8:00am-5:00pm.

Required Criteria:

  1. 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in a surgical practice setting.
  2. High School diploma or GED.

Preferred Criteria:

  1. Graduate of a State and/or Nationally accredited Medical Associate Program.
  2. Certification as a Medical Assistant.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
