Under general supervision, as a Team Lead, coordinates the daily support operations of one or more clinical areas or groups. Primarily acts as a nonexempt clinical support staff (e.g., Patient Service Representative, Practice Support Assistant, etc.) and performs the full duties associated with this role. Serves as a resource for other support staff and may fill in for staff as needed to ensure appropriate department coverage. Takes a lead role in maintaining high-quality department workflow.
High School diploma or equivalency (e.g., GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is strongly preferred if the role involves direct patient interaction. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required based on the specialty.
Typically acquired through 2-3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting. In-depth knowledge of the specialty’s area is required.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals. Sound judgment and the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated leadership potential.
