Job summary

VNACJ Community Health Center in New Jersey seeks a Medical Assistant Supervisor to lead CMA staff under the Nurse Manager. You will provide clinical oversight, supervise CMA teams, and help maintain high-quality patient care in a busy community health setting.

The role requires supervisory experience, EKG and phlebotomy skills, and a valid NJ driver’s license. Bilingual English/Spanish/Haitian Creole is preferred, with a focus on teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school with current national certification
• 2+ years of medical assistant experience preferred
• 1+ supervisory experience required
• Experience in EKG and phlebotomy
• BLS certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license
• Bilingual (English/Spanish/Haitian Creole) preferred
• Working Conditions/Physical Demand: indoor environment with medical equipment

Responsibilities

• Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence and fostering positive relationships across the organization
• Assists in professional development of CMA staff; designs and executes training programs
• Supervises CMA staff in conjunction with management practices
• Provides clinical oversight of CMA services in coordination with the Nurse Manager
• Monitors administrative tasks and deploys resources to stay current
• Oversees environment of care and infection control policies; monitors staff performance
• Adheres to absenteeism and appearance policies
• Omission of duties does not exclude similar tasks
