Job summary

VNACJ Community Health Center in New Jersey is hiring a Medical Assistant Supervisor to lead CMA teams and support the Nurse Manager in delivering safe, patient-centered care. This role combines clinical oversight with staff development in a Federally Qualified Health Center environment.

Key duties include supervising CMAs, coordinating training, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring infection control and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant certificate with current national certification.
• 2+ years of medical assistant experience preferred.
• 1+ supervisory experience required.
• Experience in EKG and phlebotomy.
• BLS certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Haitian Creole preferred.
• Working indoors with standard clinical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence with positive interpersonal relationships across the organization.
• Assists in professional development of CMA staff; designs and executes training programs.
• Supervises assigned CMAs in conjunction with organizational leadership practices.
• Provides clinical oversight of CMA services through observation and competency assessment with Nurse Manager.
• Monitors administrative tasks and deploys resources to stay current with these tasks.
• Oversees environment of care; ensures infection control and safety policies are followed.
• Adheres to policy on absenteeism and appearance.
• Omission of duties does not exclude related or similar work.
