Job summary

UnityPoint Health's Community Memorial Hospital is hiring a Medical Assistant in the Physician’s Clinic. The role is full time, 40 hours per week, with flexible 5x8 or 4x10 schedules and hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, based on department needs.

You’ll provide direct patient care, prepare patients for exams, document vital signs and histories, and collaborate with providers to ensure timely, coordinated care. A CMA certification and Iowa licensure are required, along with fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or eligible to obtain CMA certification.
• Current license or certificate in the state of Iowa.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient clinic.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs and medical histories.
• Collaborate with providers and clinic staff for timely, coordinated care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Assist with triage, patient questions, and follow-up care.
• Document care and interventions accurately in the EHR.
• Support across Family Medicine, Behavioral Health, Wound Care, General Surgery, and other services.
• Contribute to efficient daily clinic operations and a positive patient experience.

• Document patient care, interventions, and clinical information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Provide coverage and support across Family Medicine, Behavioral Health, Wound Care, General Surgery, and other specialty services.
• Contribute to efficient daily clinic operations and a positive, team-oriented patient experience.
