Geisinger is offering a structured MA to CMA pathway in the Geisinger Healthplex State College clinic. Trainees will learn to perform CMA responsibilities through classroom instruction and clinical rotations in adult and pediatric settings.
You will gain skills in vital signs, patient assistance, documentation in the EMR, and basic procedure support while working in a daytime, 40-hour weekly schedule.

The MA to CMA Pathway is a comprehensive training program where paid student medical assistants will learn to perform the skills and job responsibilities of a certified medical assistant in both adult and pediatric settings. Training occurs through didactic (classroom) and clinical rotations covering the skills, job responsibilities, and procedures that certified medical assistants must perform, as well as the roles that certified medical assistants play in the healthcare setting. They will gain the knowledge and skills to successfully function as a certified medical assistant in the outpatient setting.
