Responsibilities

• Acts as a mentor to new Level II's & entry-level Medical Assistants and assists with orientation and development of new staff.
• Provides direct patient care and serves as a liaison between provider and patient.
• Performs vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab, x-ray, referrals, and patient phone messages as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor.
• Ensures age-related competencies are met and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on patient contact level.

Qualifications

MA Sr Qualifications: Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification/registration AND 3 years as a clinic Medical Assistant in an ambulatory setting. 3 years of direct customer service experience preferred. CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of employment. Validation of competency in medication administration. Demonstration of core competencies within 90 days. Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written).

Clinic Nurse Qualifications: Current licensure as an LPN or RN in Oklahoma or multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (NCLEX) member state. Previous work experience preferred. BLS and/or ACLS as required by department. Effective communication skills in English (Verbal/Written).
