Job summary

Watson-Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a busy physician office in Lakeland, FL. The role involves telephone triage, administering medications and injections, patient education, and assisting clinicians during procedures, while maintaining accurate medical records and smooth clinic flow.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program or one year MA experience, MA certification within 90 days, and current or soon-to-be BLS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year MA work experience in the last 2 years.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.
• Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required.
• Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Adheres to the Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information patient’s medical records
• Facilitates the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office.
• Assists the physician with medical office procedures.
• Maintain the integrity of the office.
