Job summary

Watson Clinic in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support busy physicians with administrative and clinical tasks.

The role includes preparing patients, assisting with procedures, administering medications, maintaining patient records, and ensuring CPR readiness. Certification within 90 days and BLS are required; prior MA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
• Assists the physician with medical office procedures
• Administers medication, including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physicians as required by specialty.
• Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting information in patient’s medical record.

• Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policies and procedures and Nursing Update newsletters and assumes responsibility for maintaining current certification in CPR.
