For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Medical Assistants:

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full-time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full-time)

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.

Position Focus

Do you enjoy working with adolescents and young adults? If yes, this could be the perfect position for you! The MA will support the Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine team within the Pediatric practice, focusing on patients aged 10-26 years.

This busy group sees patients from all primary care sites for adolescent consultations, including programs such as Eating Disorder Program, Gender Care, Contraceptive Care, Mental Health Care, and more, as well as primary care. This role offers a mix of clinical, care coordination, and administrative responsibilities. If you are compassionate, knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and approachable, please apply!

This 40-hour position offers options of 5-8s or 4-10s during the Monday-Friday work week.

Role Summary

The Medical Assistant (MA) supports patient care and administrative tasks in a team-based environment, ensuring smooth patient flow. The MA functions under the license of the physician or advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements
  1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following: Graduated from an accredited vocational or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience, or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience, or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice (evaluated case-by-case).
  2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within one year. Current BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days. NH Med Tech License or NH EMT/National Registry EMT license required for positions in New Hampshire.
  3. Experience: One year as a Medical Assistant or 6 months with certification.
