Job summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the patient care team and act as the liaison between providers and patients. The role emphasizes delivering exceptional care, strong communication with patients, and efficient data entry in a busy clinical setting.

You will work within a values-driven organization and contribute to safety, courtesy, effectiveness, and stewardship as part of daily responsibilities. Training and compliance with SJRMC standards are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant is required or minimum 3 years experience as Medical Assistant.
• BLS Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED Certified Medical Assistant Completed a formal Medical Assistant Training Program -or- minimum of three (3) years working as a Medical Assistant BLS Certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in related clinical setting

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

Accepts the risk of exposure to job-related illness and injury which may cause long-term health problems Must be able to see with corrective eyewear, hear clearly with assistance, and differentiate colors accurately (when required) Must be able to sit and walk frequently or for long periods of time Must be able to stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist routinely Constant use of the computer and keyboard Must be able to lift greater than 50 pounds and push 0-300 pounds (frequently)

Special Demands:

Sets limits when dealing with angry, hostile, or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and families; in an attempt to ensure a safe, respectful environment that will support the delivery of care Effectively copes and strives for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families
