Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday daylight with a potential four-day work week, or rotating late shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Off weekends and most holidays.

Purpose:
Assist physicians with various aspects of patient care, including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks, ensuring patient satisfaction. Serve as the lead person for the team regarding day-to-day workflow issues or office procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Guide workflow and/or assign tasks to other clinical staff.
- Assist management staff with supervisory activities. Participate in creating and implementing departmental goals, processes, and procedures. Mentor, orient, and provide ongoing training to current and new staff members.
- Serve as the department super user for Epic Care.
- Work directly with the Manager to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical/non-clinical functions, infection control procedures, and patient assessments.
- Lead routine meetings with staff to communicate procedural changes to improve service quality and patient safety.
- Perform all practice category-specific tasks proficiently.
- Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc. Complete forms/requisitions, schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.
- Prepare and manage charts, ensure proper filing, and maintain infection control standards by cleaning and maintaining equipment and rooms.
- Organize patient flow, assist patients with transfers, and gather patient information, vitals, and screenings.
- Answer calls, provide patient education, and relay instructions as directed.
- Administer injectable medications and vaccines under supervision.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs; assist physicians with procedures; document patient information.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health, and other agencies. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to UPMC policies.
