UPMC Spring Grove Family Care is looking for a Medical Assistant!

Ideal candidate will have prior patient care experience and current Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Office Hours: M 8am-8pm, Tu 7am-7:30pm, W 7:20am-5pm, Th 7:30am-5pm, and F 7am-2pm.

Full Time - 40 hours during open office hours.

The Medical Assistant will assist physicians with various aspects of patient care, including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks to ensure patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Accompany patients to exam/procedure room and assist with walking, transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and preparation for exams.
  • Collect patient information, vital signs, and perform screenings per provider guidelines.
  • Relay instructions to patients and families.
  • Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.
  • Complete forms and requisitions as needed.
  • Manage and prepare charts, schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and update patient demographics.
  • Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments, and maintain infection control standards.
  • Manage inventory and restock supplies in exam/procedure rooms.
  • Organize patient flow and check schedules.
  • Answer calls, provide information, and patient education as directed.
  • Perform clinic procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and assist with physician procedures.
  • Comply with OSHA, CLIA, and state health regulations; maintain confidentiality.
  • Administer injectable medications and vaccines under physician supervision.
  • Perform other front office and clinical duties as required.

Performs duties in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned.
