Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant to join our team. The role involves front-desk duties, patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, collecting co-pays, and basic clinical support in a fast-paced physician practice.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; CPR certification is required; MA certification is preferred but not mandatory. Hours are rotating 7:00am–5:00pm with potential travel to other sites as needed.

  • Answer phones.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Collect co-payments.
  • Complete patient registration.
  • Provide front office support to the physician practice.
  • Check in and check out patients.
  • Verify insurances.
  • Greet patients and escort them to exam room.
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for visit.
  • Perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight).
  • Phlebotomy and injections may be required.

What You Will Do

What You Will Need
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
  • Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
