Job summary

Providence Covenant Health Plainview is hiring multiple Medical Assistant II positions onsite in Plainview, TX. The MA II works under licensed practitioner to support patient care and perform duties as directed.

Requirements include MA training or apprenticeship, 1 year clinical experience with vital signs, injections, meds; BLS within 30 days; 6 months healthcare experience. Sign-on bonus $2,000 for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school with hands-on MA training.
• Graduate of an MA apprenticeship program.
• Completed 2 years of medical training in US Armed Forces.
• Minimum 1 year of MA-like clinical experience (vital signs, injections, meds).
• Within 30 days of hire: American Heart Association BLS.
• 6 months healthcare experience.
• 6 months MA experience.

Please note that this position is onsite and therefore requires the ability to commute to Covenant Health Plainview in Plainview, TX.

The Medical Assistant II (MA II) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Medical Assistant (II) performs all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. A Medical Assistant (MA II) is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training Graduate of a school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or

• Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or

• Coursework/Training Has completed 2 years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or

• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a role similar to a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.

• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

• 6 months Healthcare experience.

• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.

Preferred Qualification:

• National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
