Job summary

Enloe Health is seeking a rotating Medical Assistant to be a point of contact for patients both inside and outside the clinic. The role supports multiple Enloe clinics to cover vacancies or workload increases, under the supervision of the Practice Manager and Clinic Supervisor.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited MA program or military medical service training, or an Associate degree with two years back-office experience, and current MA certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or formal medical service training program in the United States Armed Forces.
• Associates degree or higher in a clinical healthcare field (e.g., LVN, RN, Medical Technologist) with two years back-office medical experience.
• Currently certified as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Rotating Medical Assistant serves as the point of contact for patients inside and outside the clinic setting.
• The position will be home department but covers vacancies across Enloe clinics as needed.
• Reports to the Practice Manager and follows directions from the Clinic Supervisor at the operating site.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Medical Assistant – Rotating position is designed to be a point of contact for patients both inside and outside the clinic setting. The Rotating position will have a home department but will also be used in the various Enloe clinics to help cover vacancies or help with increases in volume/workload. The Medical Assistant – Rotating will report directly to the Practice Manager who will be responsible for assigning work sites on an as needed basis. The Medical Assistant – Rotating position will also take direction from the Clinic Supervisor at the site in which they are working.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or formal medical service training program of the United States Armed Forces

OR

Associates degree or higher in a clinical healthcare field (such as LVN, RN, Medical Technologist) and two years back office medical experience

OR

Currently certified as a Medical Assistant

Desired:

Front medical office experience to include: reception; registration, scheduling, billing and medical record functions

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Current CPR certification

Current certification as a Medical Assistant (this is only required if the employee qualified for the position because they are certified)

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients, and public. Must demonstrate basic medical / technical competence, a general knowledge of point of care laboratory equipment and capable of utilizing clerical and computer skills for a variety of medical office support functions. Must show sensitivity for the patient and their family and maintain strict confidentiality. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
