Job summary

Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, AR is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the Ortho team on a PRN basis. You will assist with patient assessments, basic diagnostic procedures, and documentation under physician or nurse supervision.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, maintaining exam areas and supplies, and performing administrative duties such as scheduling and patient registration while delivering excellent service to patients and teammates.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is preferred.
• Must hold CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification through AAMA or NHA.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of physicians or nurses, assists with patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors patient condition changes and documents care.
• Maintains equipment and supplies; stocking, cleaning, and exam areas.

How you'll contribute:

A Certified Medical Assistant who excels in this role:

• Under the supervision of physicians or nurses, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communication changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
• Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Exhibits exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.

What we're looking for:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.

License: CMA or RMA or CCMA via the AAMA or NHA required.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
