Job Summary

Under general supervision, and according to well-defined policies and procedures, the MA/MR assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management. The role involves interviewing patients and/or their representatives to obtain necessary personal, demographic, and financial information and identification. Responsibilities include routine clerical, secretarial, and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, computer data entry, and other record‑keeping tasks related to patient registration. The position assists with the flow of patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and performs preparatory work to ensure efficient use of the physician's time. Experience with medical terminology and practice management systems is preferred.
