Job summary

Englewood Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician to support primary health services. Under supervision, you will interview patients, collect demographic and financial information, and assist with patient registration and data entry.

You will help manage patient flow from waiting area to exam rooms and perform preparatory tasks for physicians. Candidates should have medical terminology knowledge, familiarity with practice management systems, and current CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or 5 years of Medical Assistant/PCT experience.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician program preferred.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Certification required for injection administration and medication documentation/handling.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Under general supervision, and according to well defined policies and procedures, the MA/MR assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management, interviews patients and/or patients' representatives to obtain necessary personal, demographic, and financial information and identification. Performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, computer data entry and other record keeping tasks related to the patients' registration within the registration areas. This position assists with flow of patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and perform preparatory work on patients to ensure efficient use of the physician's time. Experience with medical terminology and practice management systems preferred.

Education Requirements

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
