Job Summary

Under general supervision, and according to well-defined policies and procedures, the MA/MR assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management, interviews patients and/or patients' representatives to obtain necessary personal, demographic, and financial information and identification. Performs routine clerical, secretarial, and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, computer data entry, and other record-keeping tasks related to patient registration. This position also assists with patient flow from the waiting area to exam rooms and performs preparatory work to ensure efficient use of the physician's time. Experience with medical terminology and practice management systems is preferred.

Education Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician program is preferred.

License/Certification/Registry

• Current CPR Certification.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Patient Care Technician (PCT).
• Certification required for injection administration and medication documentation/handling.
