Englewood Health in Clifton, NJ seeks a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician to support primary care delivery in Cardiology. Under supervision, you will interview patients, collect demographic and financial information, and help manage registration and patient flow from waiting area to exam rooms.

Candidates should have experience with medical terminology and practice management systems; certification for injection administration is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with medical terminology and practice management systems preferred.
• Certification required for injection administration and medication documentation/handling.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician program preferred.
• Certification: CMA, RMA or PCT.
• CPR certification current.

Responsabilités

• Assist in delivery of primary health and patient care management.
• Interview patients to obtain personal, demographic, and financial information and identification.
• Answer telephones, receive the public, and perform registration-related data entry and records tasks.
• Assist with patient flow from waiting area to exam rooms and prepare patients for physician's time.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, and according to well defined policies and procedures, the MA/MR assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management, interviews patients and/or patients' representatives to obtain necessary personal, demographic, and financial information and identification. Performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, computer data entry and other record keeping tasks related to the patients' registration within the registration areas. This position assists with flow of patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and perform preparatory work on patients to ensure efficient use of the physician's time. Experience with medical terminology and practice management systems preferred.

Education Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent or 5 years of Medical Assistant/PCT experience

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
