Job summary

Englewood Health, a leading healthcare system in northern New Jersey, seeks a dedicated MA/PCT to support patient care and registration workflows. You will interview patients, gather demographics, assist with examinations, and help manage the flow from waiting area to exam rooms.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms, taking vitals, phlebotomy/EKG as ordered, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years MA/PCT experience.
  • Completion of an accredited MA/PCT program preferred.
  • CPR preferred; CMA/RMA/PCT certification required for injections and medication documentation.
  • Strong understanding of medical practice, exam/treatment procedures, and safety precautions.
  • Proficient in maintaining medical records, data entry, and confidentiality.

  • Greet and assist patients/visitors in person and by phone, manage inquiries, relay messages, maintain courteous communication, and uphold confidentiality and service standards.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, remind patients of appointments, register and check in patients, prepare visit documents, manage late arrivals, and maintain an orderly waiting room.
  • Maintain accurate patient files, demographics, insurance details, financial records, and scan required documents into imaging systems.
  • Retrieve voicemails/faxes, provide general policy information, collect payments or refer to credit representatives, attend meetings, participate in QA and professional development, and perform additional duties to support patient care.

Job Summary: Under general supervision, and according to well defined policies and procedures, the MA/MR assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management, interviews patients and/or patients’ representatives to obtain necessary personal, demographic, and financial information and identification. Performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, computer data entry and other record keeping tasks related to the patients’ registration within the registration areas. This position assists with flow of patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and perform preparatory work on patients to ensure efficient use of the physician’s time. Experience with medical terminology and practice management systems preferred.

Department: Englewood Cliffs Physicians Location: Englewood Cliffs, NJ Status: Full Time Hours: Monday to Friday. 8-hour shifts. Variable schedule between 7:00 am to 7:00 pm (office hours).

Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, prioritization, and teamwork skills; able to analyze information, resolve issues, and work effectively with patients, staff, and the public.

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc. The minimum rate does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
