Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking Medical Assistants to join our Grand Rapids clinic. You will work under licensed clinicians to support patient visits, set up exam rooms, take vitals, perform EKGs, draw blood, administer injections, and assist with in-office procedures.

A strong focus on patient care and teamwork is essential. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an MA program or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of an MA program or externship/internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Certifications preferred: CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NHA/CMAC through recognized bodies.
• Experience: 2+ years clinical support if MA program not completed; new grads with relevant experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms and prepare patients for visits.
• Take vitals using manual and electronic methods.
• Perform EKGs and draw blood; administer injections and vaccines.
• Conduct point-of-care testing and basic pharmacology support.
• Handle administrative duties and assist with in-office procedures.

Description:

Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. MAs are expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.

What you will do:

• Room set up and patient preparation
• Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic)
• Perform EKG
• Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
• Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)
• Pharmacology
• Administrative duties
• May perform or assisting with in-office procedures / treatments

What you will need:

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)American Medical Technologists (RMA)National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
• Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills. Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
