Job Description - Medical Assistant - Pulmonary Specialist of WNC - PRN (7463-13058)

Position Overview:

Under the supervision of a provider, the Medical Assistant assists with patient assessments and treatments, performs diagnostic procedures, collects specimens, and monitors patient conditions. They also document patient care, maintain examination areas, and ensure equipment and supplies are properly stocked, cleaned, and troubleshoot as needed.

Additionally, the Medical Assistant handles administrative duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration. They complete other delegated tasks within the scope of their position as directed by practice leads, supervisors, managers, or the Market Director.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Minimum Work Experience: Prior medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred.
  • Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and capacity to handle stressful environments. Must obtain AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Certified Medical Assistant credentials are preferred.
