Job summary

Legacy Health in Oregon is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support primary care or specialty clinics. You will assist with patient care under the direction of physicians, prepare patients for visits, and perform tasks like phlebotomy and basic testing, using the EHR for efficient care.

Minimum one year clinic back-office experience; MA certification within one year; BLS required; WA MA certification may apply for cross-state work; Oregon EMT pathway considered.

Qualifications

  • One year clinic back office medical assistant experience preferred.
  • MA certification within one year (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA) or WA EMT option may apply.
  • BLS for Providers from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care under the direction of physicians.
  • Prepare patients for office visits and procedures.
  • Perform vaccine/medication administration, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing.
  • Provide indirect patient care via phone or EHR (refills, scheduling).
  • Utilize electronic health record for efficient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care under the direction of physicians.
  • Prepare patients for office visits and procedures.
  • Preforms a variety of patient care activities, such as vaccine/medication administration, phlebotomy, and point of care testing.
  • Provides indirect patient care via phone or EHR by addressing patient questions, processing medication refills and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Utilize electronic health record for efficient care.
Qualifications
  • One year experience as a clinic back office medical assistant preferred.
  • Education:
    • Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience; or
    • Completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces; or
    • Completion of Basic or Advanced Oregon Emergency Medical Technician program (Oregon only)
Licensure
  • MA certification required within one year, from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
    • MA certification requirement may be met instead by current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license and national EMT registration (NREMT). Oregon only.
  • Washington State certification as a MA or Interim MA required for all who work or float in Washington.
  • Current BLS for Providers from the American Heart Association.
Pay Range

USD $23.93 - USD $33.50 /Hr.
