Summary

Responsible for covering clinical offices based on operational needs. Assists in patient examinations under the supervision of a Physician or Allied Health professional, within the scope of Medical Assistant practice. Maintains thorough knowledge of infection control and aseptic techniques. Ensures smooth patient flow by accurately assessing patient needs, following physician orders, and scheduling and following up on tests and procedures. Acts as an intermediary between physicians and patients when necessary. Must be willing to travel to all urgent care locations.

Hours

36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) year of medical group experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification and current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification required.
Essential Functions

Includes tasks such as cross-training, patient data collection, preparation of patients, technical skills demonstration, patient education, assisting with procedures, administering medications, operating equipment, maintaining medical records, managing supplies, ensuring proper disposal of expired medications and supplies, supporting nursing policies, practicing within scope of Medical Assistant practice, and maintaining current BLS certification.
