Job summary

InterMed in Portland, ME is seeking a Medical Assistant to support outpatient care management across primary and specialty teams. You will work under a licensed clinician to deliver patient-centered services and coordinate with care partners.

Responsibilities include collecting vitals, assisting with procedures, administering vaccines, managing specimens, documenting in EMR, and handling outreach and scheduling to keep care plans on track. BLS and CMA/RMA certified staff preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Associates degree is preferred.
• Current CMA or RMA certification is preferred.
• BLS certification required within 6 weeks of hire.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic Windows/Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outpatient care management in primary and specialty care.
• Gathers and updates patient information and vitals.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform diagnostic screenings and prepare specimens.
• Set up and assist with in-office procedures.
• Maintain and stock clinical equipment and supplies.
• Document in patients' charts accurately and timely.
• Assist with patient outreach and scheduling.
• Coordinate care with in-house specialties and community resources.
