Job summary

Community Health Network is looking for a Medical Assistant in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will assist the provider in managing patient visits and procedures, conduct routine laboratory tests, and maintain positive relationships with patients and staff.

Qualified candidates should have a diploma from a Medical Assistant program or a high school diploma with experience, and be able to obtain Medical Assistant certification within 6 months of hire. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Job description

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.

Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma from a Medical Assistant program OR a high school diploma + 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in physician practice.


• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire


• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies


• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload


• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection


• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system


• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols


• Process referrals and medication refills


• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
