Job summary

MD Now urgent care is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant to provide patient-focused care across multiple locations under HCA Healthcare. The role emphasizes preparing patients for examinations, assisting with procedures, injections, phlebotomy, and coordinating follow-ups.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year clinical experience, EHR familiarity, and relevant certifications; BCLS must be completed within 30 days. PRN, travel between locations within the assigned area is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting
• Experience using an EHR system
• Graduate of accredited Medical Assisting program
• AAMA certification helpful
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of start

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with instruments and supplies; sterilization
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts
• Screen calls for referral to physicians and practitioners
• Willing to travel/float between all MD Now locations within assigned Area preferred

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Medical Assistant, you will:

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
• Coordinate patient physicals and work place injuries for partner accounts
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners
• Willing to travel/float between all MD Now locations within assigned Area preferred

You Should Have:

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful
• The ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
