Urgent Team in Morristown, TN is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join our urgent care and occupational health teams. The Medical Assistant will provide clinical care, perform initial evaluations, assist with x-ray testing, and prepare patients for provider evaluation by recording histories and vital signs.

Full-time positions feature 36-40 hour weeks with 12-hour shifts and every-other weekend; PRN options available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Experience performing X-rays is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times.
• Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations.
• Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency.
• Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed.
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details.
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision.
• Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding.
• Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings. Responsibilities include initial evaluations, x-ray testing, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories, vital signs, and documentation while recognizing acuity levels for appropriate intervention.

WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE?

Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.
