Job Description

Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant (Primary Care - Windermere), FULL-TIME, to join our Primary Care team in Windermere, Florida.

$3,500 Sign on Bonus offered (external applicants only)

Travel to multiple locations required.

Position Overview

Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Primary Care Department. The MA is an important liaison between the patient/family, provider, and other care team members. The MA is responsible for coordinating patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake, ensuring the appropriate information is available to the provider, and entering pertinent history in the medical record. The MA performs and assists with clinical procedures in accordance with divisional/department responsibilities as directed by the provider and per protocol.

Nemours primary care practices provide a kid-friendly, family-centered pediatric primary care experience for families in Central Florida. With 20 primary care and three urgent care practices conveniently located throughout the region, we provide quality, professional pediatric services with special attention on preventive care and whole-child wellness.

Qualifications

Medical Assistant I:

  1. Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  2. Certification preferred (see below)
  3. Acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  4. American Heart Association BLS Certification within 90 days of hire date.
  5. Basic clinical and administrative skills.
  6. No prior experience required.

Medical Assistant II:

  1. Requires 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  2. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.
  3. Certification required (see below) and MA school preferred.
  4. Acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  5. American Heart Association BLS Certification within 90 days of hire date.
  6. Ability to mentor and train new Medical Assistants.
