Job summary

Avance Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant in Wilmington, NC for a full-time, weekday schedule (8:00 AM–5:00 PM) with no weekends. The role supports front and clinical staff in a collaborative primary care setting.

You will greet patients, record vitals, assist with injections, perform venipunctures, and handle rooming and charting while ensuring HIPAA compliance and data accuracy. Benefits accompany a strong team culture and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on clinical experience highly preferred.
• Credentials: Active certification (CNA, CMA, CCMA, RMA, EMT, AT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet patients, triage calls, follow-ups, TE entries, and HIPAA data privacy.
• Escort patients to rooms, record vital signs, document allergies, chief complaints, and medication changes.
• Administer medications, assist with vaccinations and injections, and help with refills and prior authorizations.
• Perform venipunctures, collect/lab specimens, conduct EKGs and POCT.
• Help with in-office procedures (ear irrigation, spirometry, wound care, surgical assisting).
• Sterilize and stock rooms, audit sanitization, and handle biohazard disposal.
