Job Overview

Stamford Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant in Stamford. The Medical Assistant will support the delivery of outpatient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, APP, or physician. The role is based at the Tully Center in Stamford, working Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 4:15 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in patient care in outpatient settings under supervision
  • Perform clinical and clerical duties to enhance patient experience
  • Greet and prepare patients for examinations
  • Verify patient information, record medical history, and take vital signs
  • Support providers during examinations, prepare specimens, perform basic tests, and assist with procedures such as blood draws and EKGs
  • Complete documentation of patient visits and tests
  • Schedule procedures and tests, and handle related communication
  • Maintain clinical environment, manage supplies and equipment, and ensure safety standards
  • Adhere to confidentiality and professional standards
  • Participate in ongoing education and training
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or a Bachelor’s in Chemistry or Biology with certification
  • National certification preferred
  • At least two years of experience preferred
  • Heart Saver or BLS certification
  • Basic computer skills, excellent communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills
